Learning Mgt. System

Learning Mgt System -   The committee of Principals, Teachers, District Admin Staff and Campus Technologist choose Blackboard for our LMS.   We are working on the logistics of it now and getting it up and running.   We were able to secure 3 years with Skyward integration, Gold level training package, and educational video content.    Blackboard will be used for all CISD to utilize to distribute information, files, assignments, textbooks (if available digitally), trainings, communications, collaboration, online classrooms, etc.

Visit our Crowley ISD and BlackBoard Information page for more in
depth information.

Texas Student Data System (TSDS)

The TSDS system is a major initiative by the TEA and is a new statewide system that modernizes and improves the quality of data collection, management and report in Texas.  TSDS will eventually replace and expand the current PEIMS data collection system.

Crowley ISD is an Early Adopter of this data system.

Digital Testing Environment - High Schools

HIGH SCHOOLS ONLY:
Testing computers/laptops for next round of EOC.

We have purchased 120 laptops for deployment for testing purposes.   TEA is moving fast with online testing…  Working with Mr. Kretchmar we are prepared for high need with the next round.   Online testing allows us to get scores much faster to insure we have them in district prior to graduation.   The environment is secure, but concerns are 1) Powering the device and 2) if internet goes down for extended period.   Pearson has a backup system that will “auto save” after submitting so many answers on the TestNav system.   But there is a possibility for minimal data loss.   Our Campus Instructional Techs work as the campus liaisons for testing with Mr. Kretchmar and campus admin.

Crowley ISD MS Office 365 Live
Zoom.us is an "in the cloud" meeting company, that unifies video conferencing, simple online meetings and group messaging into one easy-to-use platform. Our solution offers the best video, audio and screen-sharing quality across Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, H.323/SIP room systems, telephone and ZoomPresence.   Zoom will be used to help students and teachers stream instructional content.   Currently we are in beta test with Region XI to work out the "kinks" prior to mass production.

Gathering Metrics

Picture
Crowley ISD Bright Bytes
Our district will be partnering with BrightBytes, an educational research and analytics organization, to learn more about our schools’ technology use for student learning. Our goal is to gather metrics on technology access and skills, and on our district's technology environment, in order to understand the connection between technology use and student achievement.  This will be done through a comprehensive framework called CASE that looks at the Classroom factors, Access to technology, teacher and student Skills and Environmental factors.

To gain these insights, we must provide BrightBytes with a complete picture of technology use at school and at home within our district. We will be asking students and teachers to participate in the project and to provide input.
